Presently Baja Christian Ministries is working alongside Sergio Gomez and
his ministry, Baja
Vision to build and improve the City of Angels orphanage in La Gloria, South of
Tijuana. It is currently the home for 27 children and will eventually house and care for 125 kids.
Some of these kids were abandoned by mothers serving time in
Mexican prisons, of prostitutes and still others just left on the streets.
These kids are sent to a Christian school, loved and well cared for by Pastor Sergio and his
devoted team.

Missionary Caleb Frase Caleb's parent's are part of Christian community
called the Bruderhof, so he was raised in and out of a communal
environment. It is a community where all things are shared in
common. You grow up being taught to live a life of service to
others. In 1995 the high school aged young people were given the
opportunity to travel to a third world country to do volunteer work. He
chose to come to Mexico and build two houses with Sergio Gomez. They drove
cross country from upstate NY to Tijuana, and spent a little over week
building and traveling around the Baja peninsula. The entire trip was an
enjoyable experience of sight seeing and fellowshipping, and it left a
deep impression on all. The extreme poverty and need of the people is
bound to affect anyone who comes down here with an open heart or mind. The
little bit you can do seems so small, but you know you have changed the
lives of the people you have touched. While he was down here he talked to
Sergio about the possibility of coming back down for a bit of a longer
stretch, he was very encouraging. So in April 1999 Caleb came down
thinking maybe he'd stay down till August or September. He is still
there today. At first he was mostly helping groups build houses, and then
constructing the orphanage City of Angels. Now the orphanage is up and
running he finds myself looking after kids and everything that falls into
that category.
Caleb has returned to his home now, please pray he will
come back to Mexico for a visit!
